About the Role

CommX is looking for an experienced Controls Commissioning Manager to lead the controls commissioning delivery of major data centre projects across Europe. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all controls commissioning activities, ensuring Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), and associated control systems are tested, verified, and handed over safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.

Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams, you will oversee the commissioning of control systems from initial planning through to final handover. You will ensure all commissioning activities are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the controls commissioning delivery of large scale data centre projects across Europe.

• Develop and implement controls commissioning plans, programmes, and project deliverables.

• Coordinate commissioning activities across Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), PLCs, SCADA systems, and associated control networks.

• Review controls design documentation, software sequences, commissioning procedures, and testing methodologies.

• Manage controls commissioning engineers and specialist subcontractors.

• Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with company and client procedures.

• Monitor project progress, commissioning schedules, and resource requirements.

• Attend commissioning meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and project stakeholders.

• Review commissioning documentation, test records, method statements, and completion reports.

• Work closely with construction, electrical, and mechanical teams to ensure systems are ready for integrated testing and handover.

• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST), functional performance testing, and final client handover.

• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the commissioning process.

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience commissioning control systems within data centres or other mission-critical facilities.

• Strong knowledge of Building Management Systems (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring Systems (EPMS), PLCs, SCADA systems, and industrial communication networks.

• Experience integrating mechanical and electrical systems through control platforms.

• Proven experience managing commissioning programmes and multidisciplinary project teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong planning, organisational, and problem solving abilities.

• Ability to work within fast paced construction and commissioning environments.
