About the Role

CommX is looking for an experienced Electrical Commissioning Manager to lead the electrical commissioning delivery of major data centre projects across Europe. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all electrical commissioning activities, ensuring systems are tested, verified, and handed over safely, efficiently, and in line with client expectations.

Working closely with clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams, you will oversee the commissioning of LV and MV electrical systems from initial planning through to final handover. You will ensure all commissioning activities are delivered to the highest standards of quality, safety, and technical excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the electrical commissioning delivery of large scale data centre projects across Europe.

• Develop and implement electrical commissioning plans, programmes, and project deliverables.

• Coordinate commissioning activities across LV, MV, UPS, generators, switchgear, transformers, and associated electrical systems.

• Review electrical design documentation, commissioning procedures, and testing methodologies.

• Manage electrical commissioning engineers and specialist subcontractors.

• Ensure commissioning activities are completed safely and in accordance with company and client procedures.

• Monitor project progress, commissioning schedules, and resource requirements.

• Chair commissioning meetings and provide regular progress updates to clients and project stakeholders.

• Review commissioning documentation, test records, method statements, and completion reports.

• Work closely with construction, mechanical, and controls teams to ensure systems are ready for energisation and testing.

• Support Integrated Systems Testing (IST) and final client handover.

• Identify and resolve technical issues throughout the commissioning process.

• Promote a culture of safety, quality, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience commissioning electrical systems within data centres or other mission-critical facilities.

• Strong knowledge of LV and MV electrical distribution systems.

• Experience with UPS systems, generators, transformers, switchgear, and protection systems.

• Proven experience managing commissioning programmes and multidisciplinary project teams.

• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

• Strong planning, organisational, and problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work within fast-paced construction and commissioning environments.
